HR Coordinator

Job Summary:

This position is also responsible for assisting the HR team in in providing information and HR customer service to local and remote employees. The ideal candidate for this role will maintain a high degree of accuracy in their work, and thrive in a diverse, collaborative, high-energy environment. Good judgment and confidentiality are required. 

Essential Functions:

  • HR Support (80%)
    • Responsible for ensuring a consistent and organized onboarding process by working with the HR team and managers
    • Assist in the coordination and planning of HR and company events and participate in the NanoString Culture Committee.
    • Help set up and Maintain employee files
    • Ensure accuracy of employee data including new employee information and tracking and updating existing employee changes
    • Provide first line information to employees on company policies, procedures and benefit programs.
    • Coordinate orientations and online employee training
    • Maintain company org chart
    • Respond to verification of employment requests
    • Process employee wellness and tuition reimbursement requests
  • Recruiting Support (20%)
    • Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Recruitment and Talent Management provide a positive candidate experience by utilizing our recruiting database, Outlook calendar, and by communicating and following up with candidates and hiring managers to ensure that the hiring process is professional and efficient.
    • Schedule onsite interviews, phone screens, and candidate interview debriefs by working directly with candidates and hiring managers
    • Provide travel assistance as needed for visiting candidates
    • Manage the "temp" hiring process by connecting w/appropriate agencies, notifying appropriate internal departments, keeping temp log up to date
    • Responsible for job posting and distribution
    • Assist with candidate/employment files to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable employment laws.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant work-related experience in a Human Resources role
  • High sense of urgency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Extensive MS Office experience, preferably well versed in MS Outlook (scheduling)
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately
  • Interest in developing a career in Human Resources and willingness to pinch hit within the HR team as needed
  • Attention to detail is a must
